About “Bundle of Trouble”
Kate imagined she’d spend her maternity leave crooning lullabies and snuggling her beautiful new baby. But then she receives a disturbing phone call telling her that a body has been pulled from San Francisco Bay, and the police think it may be her brother-in-law.
Now, in addition to trying to solve the mystery of how one six-pound baby can generate ten times her weight in laundry, Kate finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation with multiplying victims. And when her husband is detained in connection with the crimes, Kate must crack the case faster than you can say “diaper rash” to keep her little family together…

In the Maternal Instincts Mystery Series child development is juxtaposed with Kate Connolly’s development as a P.I. when baby first starts seeing, Kate finds a clue, when baby can hold her head, Kate has a moment of pride in her investigation, etc. Book one (BUNDLE OF TROUBLE) is the first six weeks of baby development; Book Two is month two, Book Three is month three, etc.
About the Characters:
One common problem for new moms is the returning to the work force. The protagonist, Kate Connolly, is dreading returning to the work after giving birth. She wants more than ever to be a stay at home,but needs to bring in money in order to live in the expensive city of San Francisco. Working from home is a great compromise. Kate launches her career as a Private Investigator – only it’s not as easy as she thinks!
